Daycare description / philosophy

Pleasant Little School (PLS) is a small independent school specializing in pre-primary education. The school accepts childern who are 4 years of age by Dec. 31st. A maximum class of 6 children ensures much individual attention. PLS provides a carefully planned curriculum that focuses on nurturing knowledge and building a foundation for early school success by linking early literacy to math, science and social studies concepts, as well as the arts. Children select activities to pursue from among the rich choices prepared in a variety of learning centres, allowing for natural learning to occur through a developmentally appropriate play-based approached to learning. In addition to these activities, children also benefit from planned, teacher-guided, interactive small group experiences. The school is open from Sept. to June. The day begins at 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tues., Wed. and Thurs.
